All garments are made from 95% recycled materials. Most of these are regenerated fibres from beech trees, which are more soft and supple than cotton.
Our factory sources its materials from independent producers in China, India, and Africa, and is not reliant on the agri-business that dominates the cotton industry. We estimate that for ten ZOD garments sold, an African producer earns enough to feed a family for a fortnight.
People
Garments are manufactured in Guangzhou, China, in a certified-sweatshop free factory. Workers work no more than 10 hour days, and are paid ~30% higher than their peers in other facilities.
Ethical treatment of workers is not just ethical, but makes economic sense. A happy, motivated workforce is one that retains diligent and talented tailors, resulting in consistently impeccable garments.
